Literacy for Life Grants

Intergenerational literacy programs build skills and strengthen families. Literacy for Life Grants support family literacy programs in community centres and libraries across the province.

Eligibility

Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency to apply for a Literacy for Life Grant. (This number is required to access the online application form.) You may apply for a Literacy for Life Grant once per calendar year. Winnipeg organizations may apply for a Community Grant in the same year, but the applications must be for different projects.

Criteria

Grants of up to $4,000 are available to charitable organizations across Manitoba for family literacy programming.

Application dates

Applications are due by 4:30pm on the following dates:

  • February 1st (notification of decision late February)
  • June 1st (notification of decision late June)
  • October 1st (notification of decision late October)

Note: If an application date falls on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted until 4:30pm the next business day.
