Fast Pitch pairs leaders from the charitable community with business sector coaches to develop three-minute, high-impact pitches. At Wednesday night’s Showcase, 10 presenters delivered their Dragons’ Den-style pitches in front of a panel of judges and a full house at The Met. There were initially 15 presenters and 30 coaches who participated, and each presenter took home a $1,000 grant for their charity. Fast Pitch is a community competition where everyone wins!

“One of Fast Pitch’s goals is to help charities learn to tell their stories clearly and succinctly, and that’s exactly what happened – all of the pitches were very strong,” says Jennifer Partridge, The Foundation’s Strategic Projects Associate. “Although this was a competition, more importantly it was about building connections, showcasing the impressive work going on in our city and celebrating Winnipeggers’ generosity.”

The Grand Prize, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up were decided by judges David Asper, Johanna Hurme and Justice Deborah McCawley. The People’s Choice award was determined through text-to-vote. The event was hosted by Ismaila Alfa.

The Winnipeg Foundation, Canada’s first community foundation, was established in 1921. Built by people from all walks of life, The Foundation pools and invests gifts entrusted to it to generate grants that benefit a variety of local charitable needs For Good. Forever.
