Next week, The Winnipeg Foundation releases its 2006 Annual Report, Looking Forward. The Foundation is proud to celebrate its rich history as Canada’s first community foundation as it looks forward to the role it will play in our community’s future. The report highlights Foundation achievements during the past year and the impact that they will have for years to come.
In 2006, the Foundation saw record levels of grantmaking that resulted in $16.7 million being distributed to 650 different charities. Last year, the Foundation received approximately 3,000 gifts from community members. These gifts – from people from all walks of life – represent the generous spirit alive in our city. The generosity and foresight of thousands of donors over our 85-year history enables the Foundation to respond to community need today and The Foundation is thankful for everyone who entrusts us with their philanthropic goals and shares in our vision of “a Winnipeg where community life flourishes.”
Next Saturday, January 20th, highlights from the Foundation’s 2006 annual report will appear as a special section in the Winnipeg Free Press. Visit the Foundation’s
Publications section on our website to download the report.
