Manitoba Summer Camps
Manitoba camps are great way for kids to learn and have fun.
As a donor, you have the option to choose the type of fund that best reflects your interests and your goals for the future of our community. Any of these types of funds can be established over a five-year period to reach the minimum contribution level.

Following are the types of endowment funds you can establish at The Winnipeg Foundation:

Community Building
The annual amount - determined by the spending policy - generated by your fund will respond to grant applications received by The Winnipeg Foundation from community organizations in perpetuity. Your fund will support a range of charitable projects and is best able to address the changing needs of our community.

Minimum contribution: $2,500
Field of Interest
Your gift will focus on a particular field, but is not limited to one organization. You define the charitable field (such as arts and culture or health), but entrust the Foundation to select specific projects that your fund will support.

Minimum contribution: $10,000
Designated
You name the specific agencies to benefit from your fund. Your fund will benefit charitable organizations personally meaningful to you in perpetuity. If the organizations unexpectedly cease operation or significantly change its focus, the Foundation will redirect the fund to a similar charitable organization.

Minimum contribution: $10,000
Scholarship
A Scholarship Fund provides awards to support deserving individuals pursuing education or training. You can set the criteria to determine how students will be selected for the award. The Foundation does not review or select the applicants to receive the awards.

For more information, see our page on Scholarships and Bursaries.

Minimum contribution: $10,000
Donor Advised
Donor advised funds allow you to be actively involved as an advisor with the Foundation staff and Board in assisting to identify the charitable organizations that benefit from your fund. This type of fund is considered the most effective alternative to creating a private foundation.

Minimum contribution: $20,000
Agency Endowment
Charitable organizations may establish an endowment fund within The Winnipeg Foundation. The Foundation accepts the administration and investment responsibilities while the organization receives the distributable amount - determined by the spending policy - on an annual basis, in perpetuity. The purchasing powers of the monies are maintained for the future.

For more information, see our page on Agency Endowment Funds.

Minimum contribution: $20,000
