You can choose the type of fund that best reflects your interests and your goals for the future of our community. Note: It is not necessary to establish a fund to make a gift to The Winnipeg Foundation. For other ways to support the Foundation, visit our Gift Options page.

Permanent Endowment Funds

Community Building / Unrestricted
|
Supports a range of charitable projects and is best able to address the changing needs of our community. This fund will respond to grant applications received by The Winnipeg Foundation from local charitable organizations.

Field of Interest
|
Focuses on a particular field, but is not limited to one charity. You define the charitable field (such as arts and culture or health), but the Foundation selects the most appropriate recipients.

Scholarship & Bursary
|
Assists promising students, including those challenged by education costs, to pursue education or training.

|
Designated
|
You name the charitable organization(s) that your fund will support, year after year. If an organization ceases operation or significantly changes its focus, the Foundation will redirect the fund to a similar charitable organization.

|
Allows you to be actively involved as an advisor with the Foundation staff and Board assisting to identify the charitable organizations that benefit from your fund. This type of fund is considered the easy and cost-effective alternative to creating a private foundation.

Allows groups of people with shared interest in philanthropy to support charitable projects and organizations in the community.

Now and Forever Funds
|
Your monthly contributions are split to allow you to build an endowment over time and immediately support charitable projects and organizations in the community.

Agency Endowment
|
Charitable organizations may establish an endowment fund with The Winnipeg Foundation providing them with annual source of income. The Foundation manages the administration and investment responsibilities.

|
Allows you to make a gift that will support the Foundation’s Community Building Fund while granting out to the community annually over time.

Flow-Through Funds
|
Allows donors that have a permanent endowment fund at the Foundation to make a gift that will grant to the community within 24 months.

Forever Remembered Funds
|
Allows you to immediately establish a fund in memory of a family member or friend. Founders of the fund have six months to determine how the fund will be used.
