The Winnipeg Foundation's Community Grants Program is the main grants program, supporting a wide range of community projects in the areas of community service, education, health, arts and culture, heritage, recreation and the environment.

Organizations may submit a grant application to The Winnipeg Foundation once in the calendar year. For more information, see our

Grant requests
less than $100,000are considered three times per year:

- decision in May

Grant requests
$100,000 and greater (including multi-year projects with a total request of $100,000 or over)
requirea consultation meeting with a community grants staff before an application may be submitted and are considered once per year:

Applications will only be accepted through the Foundation’s online grant application process. For detailed instructions on the online application, please download

Please note: You will need your organization's Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Registered Charity number to access the online grant application.
Save & Finish Later
You do not have to complete the entire application at one time; the online grant application includes a “Save & Finish Later” feature which you can access at any time. To access a saved, in progress application,
click here.
To request payment of your grant, contact the Community Grants Administrative Officer at 944.9474 ext. 238. Please note your grant number, which can be found on your award letter.
In order to release grant funds, The Winnipeg Foundation requires copies of invoices (where applicable) or other documentation for the use of the funds. More detailed information about what documentation is required for your project can be discussed with the Community Grants Administrative Officer.
Once your project is complete, please fill out the final report form and email it to the
Grants Team at The Winnipeg Foundation. This report should include:
- a financial summary of all grant expenses and revenues
- a project description, including objectives, activities, results and lessons learned
