Before clicking on the online grant application link at the bottom of this page, please read the following carefully.

Tip: A hard copy of the information below may be helpful to refer to during the application process. Download the "How to Appy Online (PDF)" and print. Please check to make sure that your internet privacy options are set to accept The Winnipeg Foundation as a trusted site.

When you access the online grant application, you will be asked for your Tax ID # (CRA Registered Charity number i.e. 123456789RR0001) then you will advance to an eligibility quiz to determine if your organization meets the grant requirements. You must provide your Registered Charity number and answer the questions to proceed.

Once you have successfully completed the eligibility quiz, you will be able to access the online grant application. The application consists of 3 sections which you must complete:

• Organization Information
• Application Information
• Attachments

The forms below are also located in the attachments section of the online grant application, and must be filled out to complete your application.

Tip: Prior to advancing to the application we suggest that you download the forms, save them to your computer, answer all questions and have the completed forms ready to upload along with the other required attachments. In addition, you will need to upload the following attachments as separate documents:

• List of Board of Directors and Officers 
• Most recent audited financial statements
• Most recent annual report
• Income and expense budget for the current fiscal year

All of the attachments must be uploaded to the application. Detailed instructions are provided in the Attachments section of the online application. If you do not have the required documents in electronic form, please forward them to the Community Grants Administrator at the Foundation by mail. Clearly mark all attachments with organization name, contact person and application date. Please send the attachments only; do not send the entire application.

You do not have to complete the entire application at one time; you may save your work at any time by clicking the "Save and Finish Later" button at the bottom of the page. In order to go back to your application later, you will be prompted to create an account (see information below on creating an account).

When you are satisfied that your application is complete, click the "Review and Submit" button at the bottom of the last page. After you have reviewed your application, click the "Submit" button. PLEASE CLICK THE SUBMIT BUTTON ONLY ONCE.

When you have submitted your application, you will be asked if you would like to create an account/update an existing account. Applicants who have an account will receive an email confirming that your application has been successfully submitted. If you do not receive acknowledgement of your online grant application submission within five (5) business days please contact us at

Creating an account allows you to have online access to your applications. You will be able to return to in-progress applications to finish later, and access previous online applications for five years.

You will be prompted to create an account when you click "Save and Finish Later" or "Submit" in the online grant application. You will be asked to provide an email address and a password, then click "Continue" to create an account. You will then be taken to the Account Login.

After you create an account, you will receive a confirmation email that includes the URL for the Account Login page, enabling you to return to it later.
