The Science of the Circus The Foundation supports travelling exhibits at the Manitoba Museum.
The Winnipeg Foundation’s EnviroGrants pilot program awards grants of up to $5,000 to charitable organizations taking concrete steps toward more sustainable operations.

Organizations may apply for an EnviroGrant once per calendar year and apply for a Community Grant in the same calendar year, but it must be for different projects.

Water Conservation
Projects that reduce water consumption and/or reduce pollutants/nutrients entering the watershed will be considered. Examples include:
- Purchase and installation of low flow toilets, showerheads or rain barrels
- Grey water recycling
- Purchase of phosphate-free cleaning products
- Implementation of sustainable lawn-care practices
Energy Conservation
Projects that reduce energy consumption and/or promote use of alternative energy sources will be considered. Examples include:
- Purchase and installation of high-efficiency lighting
- Purchase of energy efficient appliances
- Purchase and installation of solar panels or windmills
- Undertaking an energy efficiency audit
Waste Reduction and Diversion
Projects that reduce the amount of waste generated and sent to landfill will be considered. Examples include:
- Establishment of internal recycling programs
- Establishment of internal composting programs
- Replacement of disposable items with reusable (eg: dishes, linens)
- Re-use of resources and use of local materials
Greenhouse Gas Reduction
Projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions will be considered. Examples include:
- Promotion of alternative transportation for staff, volunteers and clients
- Creation or maintenance of rooftop or community gardens
- Use of locally grown food
- Purchase of teleconference equipment

Applications will only be accepted through the Foundation’s online grant application process. For detailed instructions on the online application, please download How to Apply Online (PDF). Please note: You will need your organization's Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) Registered Charity number to access the online grant application.

Final Report
Once your project is complete, please fill out the final report form and email it to Megan Tate at The Winnipeg Foundation.
