The power of Literacy for Life
Families that learn together grow stronger and build health communities.
The Literacy for Life Fund supports family literacy programming in Manitoba. The fund, a partnership between The Winnipeg Foundation, Literacy Partners of Manitoba and Winnipeg Public Library, provides grants of up to $4,000 for intergenerational literacy programs in libraries and community centres across the province. Since it was established in 2003, the fund has provided more than $850,000 to a wide range of literacy initiatives.

Literacy for Life grant decisions are normally made by the end of the month in which the grant application is due. Application due dates are:

• October 1st
- for winter programs
Organizations may apply for a Literacy for Life Grant once per calendar year and apply for a Community Grant in the same calendar year, but it must be for different projects.
