As Your Centre for Community Philanthropy, The Winnipeg Foundation is committed to linking donors with powerful opportunities to strengthen our community, as well as identifying and responding to the changing needs of local charitable organizations. The Foundation is also dedicated to the responsible stewardship of the funds that have been entrusted to it, by donors from all walks of life, since it was established in 1921.

As a community resource, the Foundation offers flexible options for donors to help them meet their personal needs and philanthropic goals. All gifts to the Foundation are permanently endowed, with the interest generated used to make grants to local registered charities.

Thanks to the generosity and foresight of generations of donors over its eight-decade history, The Winnipeg Foundation has made more than $200 million in grants local charities working in the areas of community service, health, education, arts, heritage, environment and recreation.
