The Winnipeg Foundation’s Summer Internship Program (SIP), established in 2005, matches high school students who have participated in YiP with meaningful, 8-week paid summer jobs at local charitable organizations. The program is designed to introduce interns to the work of non-profit organizations and the challenges and rewards of working in the sector. Working closely with a mentor, interns learn about all aspects of operations for a charity. In turn, host agencies gain staff capacity to carry out projects they might not be able to undertake otherwise.

Past host agencies:
  • Health Sciences Centre Foundation
  • Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba
  • Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art
  • Newcomer Employment and Education Development Services
  • Nor’West Co-op Community Health Centre
  • Reaching E-Quality Employment Services
  • Resource Conservation Manitoba
  • Special Olympics Manitoba
  • The Manitoba Children’s Museum
  • The Rainbow Society
  • Urban Circle Training Centre
  • Zoological Society of Manitoba
