The Winnipeg Foundation’s Summer Internship Program (SIP), established in 2005, matches high school students who have participated in YiP with meaningful, 8-week paid summer jobs at local charitable organizations. The program is designed to introduce interns to the work of non-profit organizations and the challenges and rewards of working in the sector. Working closely with a mentor, interns learn about all aspects of operations within a charity. In turn, host agencies gain staff capacity to carry out projects they might not be able to undertake otherwise.
