Literacy for Life Grants

Intergenerational literacy programs build skills and strengthen families. Literacy for Life Grants support family literacy programs in community centres and libraries across the province.

  • Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency to apply for a Literacy for Life Grant. (This number is required to access the online application form.) You may apply for a Literacy for Life Grant once per calendar year. Winnipeg organizations may apply for a Community Grant in the same year, but the applications must be for different projects.
  • You may apply for one Literacy for Life Grant per calendar year. Organizations may apply for a Community Grant, or any special program grant, in the same year, but applications must be for different projects.

Grants of up to $4,000 are available to charitable organizations across Manitoba for family literacy programming.

Please review our Literacy for Life Grants Policies & Guidelines [PDF] and read our definition of family literacy [PDF] before applying to ensure your project fits the criteria. If you are a first-time applicant, please contact Kerry Ryan prior to submitting your request.
