Nourishing Potential Grants

Eating right helps improve school success, overall health, and quality of life.

Nourishing Potential Grants support charitable organizations that provide nutritious food for children and youth.

  • Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency to apply for a Nourishing Potential Grant. (This number is required to access the online application form.)
  • You may apply for one Nourishing Potential Grant per calendar year. Organizations may apply for a Community Grant, or any special program grant, in the same year, but applications must be for different projects.

The maximum grant request for this program is $10,000 and may include: food purchases, equipment (up to $3,000), and nutrition education and training (up to $1,000).

Nourishing Potential Grants will be made to charitable organizations that operate after-school programs, drop-in centres, community centres, family resource centres, and early childhood education centres. School divisions and individual schools are not eligible for this grant program.

Projects must primarily benefit children and youth from economically disadvantaged communities in Winnipeg.

Please review the Nourishing Potential Grants Policies & Guidelines [PDF] to ensure your project fits the criteria.
