Charitable and business sectors pair up for Fast Pitch

The Winnipeg Foundation

Fast Pitch
Fast Pitch supporting and raising awareness of Winnipeg’s charitable sector.

For Immediate Release: Can you make a difference in three minutes? Skilled volunteers from the legal, financial, marketing and business sectors have teamed up with charitable community leaders to develop three-minute Fast Pitches. The charities that tell their stories best will share grants worth $20,000.

Fast Pitch, an initiative of The Winnipeg Foundation, aims to support and raise awareness of Winnipeg’s charitable sector. Through Fast Pitch, leaders from local charitable organizations learn how to better present their organization’s story: succinctly and powerfully. The coaching process will also help build valuable relationships with members of Winnipeg’s business community. See a list of the 17 charitable sector “presenters” and 30 business sector “coaches” in attached Backgrounder.

“It’s a fun and engaging way to showcase how local organizations are solving social issues and challenges and working together to create a more vibrant community,” says Jennifer Partridge, Strategic Projects Associate with The Winnipeg Foundation. “Plus, these charitable organizations will be introduced to business, financial, marketing and legal professionals they might not otherwise meet. It’s a community competition where everyone wins!”

“The Foundation’s vision is ‘a Winnipeg where community life flourishes for all.’ Fast Pitch is one of the ways we’re working to fulfil this vision, and to build our philanthropic community,” says Foundation CEO Richard Frost.

Winners are determined by a panel of judges and audience participation during a Final Showcase on April 7 at The Met. Limited tickets to this event will be on sale at a later date.

Thank you to Fast Pitch sponsors: Aikins Law, Fillmore Riley, Stand & Command, and TDS Law.
