RC360 S05E04: Canadian Mental Health Association, Volunteer Manitoba, Take Pride Winnipeg

River City 360

In this instalment of River City 360:

  • We'll talk all things mental health with Stephen Sutherland, Employment Specialist at the Canadian Mental Health Association, in honor of #BellLetsTalk Day.

  • We'll also hear how some Winnipeggers are doing their part to help our city. We'll speak with Ravi Ramberran, Owner of St. James Burger and Crown Bar and Grill, about the different ways they are helping the community.

  • Jackie Hunt, Executive Director of Volunteer Manitoba, joins us to talk about how Volunteer Manitoba supports volunteerism in our province and about nominations for the upcoming Volunteer Awards in April.

  • What do you do with all those pesky plastic bags at the grocery store? Some elementary school kids are turning plastic bags into benches… and we'll speak with Tom Ethans, Executive Director of Take Pride Winnipeg to learn all about it.

  • And we'll speak with Rick Lussier, Senior Grants Associate at The Winnipeg Foundation. With his retirement this week, we sat down with Rick to talk about his incredible career serving Winnipeg and what he’s learned during his 25 years with The Winnipeg Foundation.
