In this instalment of River City 360:

  • The Winnipeg Foundation’s Vital Signs survey is being launched this week. Joanna Turner joins us in studio to tell you how to have your say when it comes to the health and vitality of our city.
  • The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute is holding a fundraiser next weekend called Jameela. We’ll tell you all about the exclusively female event that seeks to create a safe space for women from all backgrounds to share and learn more about each other’s experiences.
  • Spur Winnipeg, the annual festival of politics, art and ideas, kicks off on Thursday, May 4. We’ll tell you all about the festival’s many events, which center around the theme ‘Risk’.
  • We’ll also learn about the Functional Transit Winnipeg citizen group, that hopes to encourage Winnipeggers to advocate for improvements to public transit in our city through a series of talks, panels and roundtable discussions.
  • And Noah Erenberg, Convener of Community News Commons, joins us to discuss the latest stories from citizen journalists at CNC.
