River City 360

Today's show is about the importance of perspective when it comes to history, and some interesting and fun stories about people celebrating Canada150, but we’ll also discuss the resistance of Canada150 and why some are questioning Canada’s 150th and even choosing not to participate in this year’s festivities.

  • Jerome Marchildon, Museum Program Developer at the Manitoba Museum, joins us to talk about the Museum's new exhibit, Legacies of Confederation, and the importance of all perspectives when it comes to Manitoba’s history.
  • Stephane Dorge, the Creator and Coordinator of Cool Streets 2017, joins us to talk about the interesting artworks that are adorning Winnipeg streets to celebrate Canada's 150th.
  • Michael Champagne of Aboriginal Youth Opportunities! will join us in-studio to talk with RC360’s Kristi Nikkel about Canada’s 150th from his perspective. They’ll be talking about the Resistance150 Movement and why some are choosing not to take part in Canada150.
  • Christine Ahrens chats with Candice Mitchell, General Manager of Archangel Fireworks, to get a sneak peek of what people can expect for this year's fireworks display at The Forks.
