RC360 Season 3, Episode 7

River City 360

In this instalment of River City 360:

  • Last weekend, 21 refugee claimants came across the border to Emerson, putting a strain on Welcome Place, which has no space to house them. We’ll hear from their Executive Director Rita Chahal about the situation as well as from Jennifer Partridge, Strategic Projects Associate at The Winnipeg Foundation, to learn about the Foundation’s response to this emergency situation.
  • We’ll also be joined via telephone by Ardith Boxall, Artistic Director of Theatre Projects Manitoba. She’ll tell us about their new show, Huff, which premiered earlier this week.
  • Then we’ll be joined by Tolu Ilelaboye, Youth Engagement Coordinator at The Winnipeg Foundation, to learn more about the Emerging Leaders' Fellowship and some of the interesting projects that young people have developed with non-profits and charities in our city.
  • And Robert Zirk fills in for CNC Convener Noah Erenberg, discussing the latest stories written by citizen journalists on Community News Commons.
