The Winnipeg Foundation celebrates 100 years of legacies

Community

On June 6, 1921, the Alloways wrote a cheque to create The Winnipeg Foundation. Now, 100 years later, we gathered virtually to celebrate that day together and the importance of legacy giving.

In 1921, ice cream socials were a popular way for friends to gather. Inspired, we hosted our own 2021 version for Foundation Legacy Circle members, generous people from all walks of life who have included The Winnipeg Foundation in their estate plans.

Our Legacy Circle members were invited to enjoy ice cream provided by Chaeban and view a virtual program that debuted on Shaw TV (Channel 9, Channel 105), 93.7 CJNU-FM, The Foundation’s Facebook page and YouTube channel at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 6. Hosted by Foundation CEO Sky Bridges, the program features a retrospective of The Foundation’s history, special guests, musical performances from Sweet Alibi, and more.

If you missed the program, you can watch it on:

Thank you to all our Legacy Circle members!
