Cathy Auld

Director of Strategic Philanthropy

Prior to joining The Foundation in 1990, Cathy was a manager at the Winnipeg Core Area Initiative, focused on community revitalization. She has a Master of City Planning from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Winnipeg.

A member of the Foundation’s Executive office, Cathy supports the CEO on leadership initiatives and serves on the senior Management Team. Cathy enables a portfolio of individuals, families, and organizations in reaching their community goals, by supporting fledgling, innovative and established organizations. These expressions of philanthropy continue to evolve for community benefit. Cathy has shared her expertise with our “sister” community foundation in Nitra, Slovakia. She belongs to the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Canadian Association of Gift Planners. Cathy enjoys art, writing and theatre and serves on the board of the J.W. Dafoe Foundation. She received the Senate of Canada’s 150 medal for her dedicated leadership in philanthropy.
