SIP matches high school students with local charities to create opportunities for meaningful, paid, summer employment.
- Your organization must have a registered charitable number from Canada Revenue Agency to apply for a Summer Internship Program Grant. (This number is required to access the online application form.)
- You may apply for one Summer Internship Program Grant per calendar year. Organizations may apply for a Community Grant, or any special program grant, in the same year, but applications must be for different projects.
A Summer Internship Grant is up to $4,500 and covers the intern’s wages and a modest administrative stipend for the eight-week duration of the program.
Host organizations must have a specific project that will introduce an intern to the nonprofit sector.
Preference will be given to projects that provide experience specific to the nonprofit sector and nonprofit leadership.
The Winnipeg Foundation matches successful intern applicants with positions at host organizations based on the needs of the organization, the demands of the position, and the qualifications and interests of the intern.
Application Due Date
- March 12 at 4:30 p.m.
Note: If an application date falls on a weekend or holiday, applications will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. the next business day.
The online application form is active for approximately four weeks before the due date.
