Literacy for Life

Literacy, Education & Employment

When a child learns with their parent or caregiver, they improve their future and build stronger family relationships and community connections.

Thanks to donors who support the Literacy for Life Fund, thousands of Manitoba families have access to books, storytelling, healthy play and enriched learning opportunities. These grassroots programs are having huge impact: parents are inspired to make reading with children a daily activity; kids are building skills that will last a lifetime; and families are becoming more active in community life.

Literacy for Life Grants support family literacy programs in community centres and libraries across the province.

The Literacy for Life Fund was established in 2003 by Literacy Partners of Manitoba, Winnipeg Public Library and The Winnipeg Foundation. The Fund has grown through generous gifts from the Government of Canada, Province of Manitoba and donors from all walks of life.
