AREA: Arts, Culture and Heritage

GRANT: $25,000

The Vintage Locomotive Society is revitalizing the Prairie Dog Central Railway to preserve an important part of Manitoba’s history while creating memorable experiences for visitors of all ages. With your generous support, the Society is improving Inkster Junction Station, expanding amenities at Grosse Isle, and refurbishing passenger coaches, creating more opportunities for people to experience Manitoba’s railway history year-round.

Building Confidence Through Skateboarding

Skateboarding Development Manitoba Inc. (SDM) and The Forks Foundation

AREA: Children, Youth and Families

GRANT: $40,000

Skateboarding Development Manitoba is creating opportunities for innercity youth to develop skills, gain employment experience, and build meaningful connections through skateboarding. The Youth Skate Mentorship & Employment Program connects young people with mentors, provides leadership training, and offers paid roles supporting camps, events, and community programming. Your support is creating safe, welcoming spaces where youth can grow, contribute, and feel a greater sense of belonging.

Empowering Youth to Take Climate Action

Learning for a Sustainable Future /L’éducation au service de la Terre

AREA: Environment

GRANT: $29,950

Learning for a Sustainable Future is equipping Winnipeg students with the knowledge and confidence to address climate change. Through a Climate Action Youth Forum, teacher development, and grants for studentled projects, the program creates opportunities for educators and youth to explore local climate solutions. You are helping students turn learning into action through projects such as growing food, reducing waste, and creating green spaces that foster youth leadership and strengthen climate resilience in their schools and communities.

Strengthening Community Overdose Response

Main Street Project

AREA: Health, Wellness and Recreation

GRANT: $100,000

Main Street Project is leading a collaborative effort to strengthen harm reduction and overdose response in Winnipeg’s Main Street and Higgins Avenue area. Working with frontline organizations, businesses, and people with lived experience, the project is expanding naloxone training, peer support, and connections to care. With your support, community partners are building their capacity to respond to overdoses and improve access to compassionate, culturally safe support for people most at risk.

Building More Inclusive Schools

Louis Riel School Division Trust Fund

AREA: Literacy, Education and Employment

GRANT: $65,000

Developed by Community Education Development Association (CEDA), the Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Education Professional Learning Community brings together educators, families, Indigenous partners, and community voices to address systemic racism and foster belonging in schools. Thanks to your generosity, the initiative is centring lived experience and community voice to strengthen inclusive learning environments where students, families, and educators feel respected, valued, and connected.
