Youth in Philanthropy
Learn about community needs and how grantmaking works. Youth in Philanthropy (YiP) helps you to build the confidence and skills to lead with purpose.
Your voice. Your impact.
YiP gives you an inside look at how generosity can create real change in your community.
As a YiP participant, you will join a committee at your school or organization and work with other youth to explore local issues, learn how charities respond, and decide where grant dollars should go.
YiP supports you with tools, guidance, and learning opportunities that help you understand how philanthropy works in practice.
By taking part, you will build skills that matter now and in the future. YiP will help you grow your confidence, strengthen teamwork, and build decision-making skills, while deepening your understanding of community needs and social responsibility. You will also gain hands-on experience meeting community leaders and make a meaningful difference in your community.
If you are interested in joining YiP, check the list of participating committees to see if your school or organization is involved.
What YiP meant to me
YiP this year just gave me more great experiences to get to know my city and the people that live here. I got to know more about their struggles, and how to help. It’s a great opportunity to increase knowledge and empathy, to help understand experiences that I may have never had myself.
