Community Grants

• Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registered charities
• Qualified CRA donees (contact us in this case)
• Organizations that haven’t received a Community Grant this calendar year, unless partnering with another non-profit
• Past grantees with an approved final report
• Organizations also applying for another Winnipeg Foundation grant, if this request is for a different project

Your project should mainly benefit the people of Winnipeg. Projects outside the city must show a clear benefit to Winnipeggers. 

Our Community Grants program cannot support:

• Organizations that try to convert or recruit people to specific beliefs, especially youth or other vulnerable groups
• Project costs you have undertaken before we have approved your grant.
• Ongoing operational expenses
• Government bodies
• Individuals
• Fundraising campaigns, positions, or events
• Mortgage or deficit payments
• Political activities
• Other grantmaking or scholarship programs
• Activities that are only for religious worship or teaching

• Capital and renovations
• Conferences and events
• Equipment and infrastructure
• Program operating
• Reports and planning
• Capital campaigns
• Short-term operating support
• Organizational development and capacity building
