Build brighter futures for children and youth

Children and Youth Program Grants awards grants of up to $25,000 to youth-serving organizations or established youth programs that serve children and youth facing systemic barriers to participation, including BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ youth, youth from economically disadvantaged communities, and youth with disabilities or chronic illnesses.

Application details

Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) registered charities or Qualified CRA donees (contact us in this case).
Youth-serving organizations and programs established for more than a year.
Past grantees with an submitted final report.
Organizations following the Manitoba Human Rights Code that do not discriminate based on protected characteristics.
If applicable, past grantee recipients of a Children and Youth Programs Grant who completed their project and have submitted a final report for their previous grant

Please note: Multi-Year Grant recipients are ineligible to apply for Community Grants and Children and Youth Program Grants during their funding period.

Your project should mainly benefit the people of Winnipeg. Projects outside the city must show a clear benefit to Winnipeggers.

This grant does not support:

Current recipients of a Community Grant or Major Capital Grant requesting the same costs.
Organizations piloting new programs for children and youth.
National organizations without established programming in Winnipeg.
Family programs serving both adults and children or youth.
Current recipients of a Community Grant or Major Capital Grant requesting support for the same cost(s) in their Children and Youth application.
Individual Schools
Organizations focused solely on religious worship or instruction, or those that engage in proselytization (defined as converting or recruiting people to a specific set of religious or other beliefs), particularly those targeting youth or other vulnerable groups
Collaborative applications.

Programs that promote skill-building
Inclusive recreational or cultural programs
Transportation and fee support
Creation of safe and welcoming spaces
